Pay Per Click -Testing Your Way to Success
Last night I had the chance to listen to Perry Marshall´s webinar at http://onlinemarketeroftheyear.com and it was awesome.
Goggle adwords had never had such an appeal to me, I tried it in the beginning when I started my home business but it seemed too complicated and technical. Also I was afraid to loose too much money if I didn´t do it correctly.
Last night Perry opened my eyes and for the first time I realized the actual potential behind this market. Instant access to 100 millions and more targeted people every day. You just have to get the google equation solved. Do you think this is worth a few hours study? I´m not saying I only need a few hours to fully acknowledge this business tool but it´s enough to understand the
basics, I guess.
Did you know that Google made $11 Billion in sales in 5 years. It´s a huge market. If you seriously want to make money on the internet, pay per click is certainly worth a second thought.
I´m going to give a short guideline in steps how to proceed when starting an google adwords campaign:
1. Either you already have a product or service to sell or you have to take a look at what people are searching for. With the overture search tool at yahoo you can easily determine how many people search for certain items daily.
2. Now that you have your product, adwords lets you write 4 ads to find out which one gets the most clicks. Here you can test different headlines and find out which ones work best.
3. Before you make a bid on a keyword , check out your competitors! This is important because you certainly want to land on page #1 among the top ten with your ad, don´t you? Are there more than 10 bidders against you on the page you either have to pay more for the clicks or your ad is so popular that it throws your competition far out.
4. Here´s how you do it: Create 2 ads with different headlines. Don´t make them too much different though, sometimes it´s only one word or simply a comma which makes the click thru rate go up. Pay attention to the flow in your headline when you read it out loud. Does it sound appealing and smooth, then it might become a hit.
5. Everybody talks about keywords. A common mistake beginners make when choosing their keywords is that they take too many different ones. Narrow in your keywords, find out how many competitors you have on the one you chose, match it with your ad and your landing page.
6. But you don´t know anything before you test. Especially when you want to try out a new product, headline, optin page or hompage title. Go and test it first and see which one is the most popular.
